Birthday Dinner Downtown

Back in May, Brian took me and several of our friends to Texas De Brazil for my 30th birthday, and we decided we had found our new favorite restaraunt.  Of course, its not a place we can frequent often, but we were already thinking of a special occasion to allow us to go back.  So, the next birthday was my Dad's!
We explained beforehand that this is a VERY fancy restaraunt and everyone had to be on their very best behavior.  I am very proud to say that everyone was wonderful and we had a great time.  Not to mention the food was wonderful too.  The kids got very excited when the waiter brought the dessert tray around and they each got to pick something yummy!

After dinner we walked down to...

We had been promising the kids we would take them to the rooftop to see the ducks.  We went a few months ago and when we made it to the top, there was a private wedding and we were bummed that we didn't get to see them!
Here are a few more views from the top:

and just a few more from the night....

It was a fun night for sure!!

Friday Night FUN!!!

For the past few weeks Sammy has asked me several times if he can help us cook.  So, we came up with a great idea to let him help.  But, if you have more than one child then you know exactly what would happen if only Sammy got to help cook.  We decided all three kids would be able to make their very own homemade pizza.  It turned out to be a fun time and not nearly as messy as you would imagine.  We set them up at the kitchen table with their ingredients and a little help...and...VOILA!  We have three great pizza makers!

We sure know how to party in the Billings Household, don't we?

We like to GROW...

Flowers, vegetable gardens...kids...I think the kids grow the fastest!  We like to grow things around here.  I wouldn't say I have a green thumb, but I do TRY to grow things.  Every year Brian plants a vegetable garden, and so far the past few years it has turned out wonderful.  The kids love to go out in the evenings and hunt for squash and tomatoes that are ready to be picked.  Here are a few shots of our garden....

Don't you just love our little "watermelon family" ?  Anna Beth and Rece can't wait to get their hands on those watermelons.  I think we counted about 9 of them.  I took the pics of the squash after we picked several big ones and made a yummy squash casserole.  Okay...Brian made a yummy squash casserole.  And since I've read so many other blogs and I know what will happen after people read this post.  "Can I have your squash casserole recipe?"  Of course!!!

5-6 medium sized squash
one whole (or half) an onion (depending on how much you want)
2 cans cream of chicken soup
small container of sour cream
1 package of stove top stuffing
shredded cheese
ritz crackers

Cut up squash and onions. Cook down the squash and onions with a little water and olive oil.  Drain.  Mix the squash, onions, cream of chicken, sour cream, and stop stove stuffing and pour into casserole dish.  Cover with shredded cheese.  Crush ritz crackers and sprinkle across the top.  I even like to spray the crackers with spray butter.  Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until its bubbling and cheese is melted.  Its that easy!

While Brian is great at gardening, I'll stick to flowers...

I'm leaving you with a few more pictures that I took this week, just because they are SOOO NEAT!  We finally got some rain this week and it made the hummingbirds CRAZY!!
I could sit and watch them for hours!

The beginning...

I love reading other peoples blogs.  The more and more that I read I think "I should make one for my family," and so...our blog is born!

Now, what to blog about...

Guess I will just tell about the fun times and happenings of my fabulous life in a Three Ring Circus, the three rings being three adorable children.
Anna Beth, AKA- drama queen and princess of our household!
Sammy, 100% boy!
Rece, AKA the youngest and the sweetest 4 year old boy!

These sweet, adorable kids are the greatest joy in the lives of Brian and me.  And together we make up a family of five.
There you have it.  Our family.  I couldn't have been blessed more and thank God every day for giving me such a wonderful husband and three happy, healthy and (adorable) children.
